Dare To Believe

Leo Dunne has been searching his entire life for the one person born just for him. He finds her working in his own company, but the shy little Ruby Halloway constantly hides from him. He hatches a devilish plot with her best friend to bring her out of her shell, and the result proves her desire is more than a match for his own.

Ruby has had the hots for her boss for some time now, but she knows business and pleasure shouldn't mix. While that can't stop a girl from dreaming, she sticks by her guns and does her best never to be alone with the handsome CEO. Until the company masquerade party, where she discovers a passion with him that leaves a mark on her soul.

A family emergency calls Leo away, and rather than spend one night out of Ruby's arms, he convinces her to go with him. With his brother's life on the line, it's vital she learn how to deal with who, and what, her new lover really is--before it's too late.

Apparently, Dana Marie Bell suffers from MPD because the person that wrote the Halle Pumas cannot be the same individual that did Shadow of the Wolf and this, Dare To Believe.

A serious rival to being my favorite Dana Bell book. Jaden was incredible. Yes, the story is Leo and Ruby's but I was all about Jaden. And Robin. Robin Longfellow, the Hob, was great too.

Jaden, vampire, is bondbrother to Duncan, not vampire, whose bloodsister is Kaitlynn who is in 'love' with Leo. Since Duncan is nowhere to be found, Kaitlynn forces Jaden to do her bidding and abduct Ruby so she can get Leo to talk to her, and ultimately agree to tribond with her. But Jaden hates Kaitlynn, so even though he does it, he always has ways to undo things. I pictured a little too well the scene where he's internally laughing his ass off while watching the monitors as Shane escaped the mansion. While in the heart of the act of taking Ruby, Jaden falls for Moira, Leo's sister.

Yet, in the end, Duncan is revealed to actually be Moira's mate. Which of course, makes you think one of them is not her mate, and possibly only feeding off the bond the two (three?) share.

Too bad I won't be able to take on Jaden and Moira's story. Why DMB feels the need to write threesomes I will never comprehend. I can't stomach the things. Actually, I'm quite pissed at the situation. I want Jaden with Moira. I like Duncan but he can find his own. No shares. No take-backs. No refunds.

Oh, and best quotes of the book.. though there were many--

RUBY - "Oh! Galadriel! Can you do the glowy pond thing, too?"
LEO - "No, Frodo, I can't."
JADEN to CULLEN - "What kind of spy movies have you been watching?"
