Revenge...it's a way of life for psychic Lily Saburi.

Haunted since the brutal murder of her best friend and partner Lily's out to find the killer...but finds more than she expected. After being bitten by a rouge animal she's infected with a deadly virus, one of which there is no cure.

Sexy and powerful Sean Leighton, a were-hunter is charged with destroying anything infected with the deadly pathogen. His pack must be protected at all costs. Sean is faced with the decision to kill the woman he's fallen in love with or save his pack. Will they fall victim to Hunter's Blood?

Everything about this story is just too easy. The characters are completely predictable and the ending isn't even a freakn' ending!

Ten ratings on Goodreads consisting of nine 5stars and one single-star, I expected a hell of a lot better. It's good, don't get me wrong, but the pace is a bit quick and very little time and words are spared on descriptions. Plus, as I said, there's no real freakin' ending. It's like the last chapter got ripped from the file. Even being a book one it deserves a true conclusion. 2 out of 5 stars.

My Goodreads Review:

Hunter's BloodHunter's Blood by Marianne Morea

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Everything about this story is just too easy. The characters are completely predictable and the ending isn't even a freakin' ending! The pace is a bit quick which only adds to the lack of ability to bond with the characters. Not that there's much to bond to. Very little effort is spared on descriptions and even less on explanations. I was very disappointed in this story, as a prequel and a book.

I reviewed Hunters Blood For the Paranormal Romance Guild and loved it. The publisher Knight Romance Publishing noted this Novella was a pre-quel to a new series. I was very impressed with Ms Morea's writing and find her a bright new entry. I look forward to her newest release, the continuation of this story. and
Redd...please keep it on our TBR pile and read it.

Thanks for the comment, Gloria.

I was NOT impressed by Ms Morea's writing and found it midscale at best. She flows with the majority of fantasy writers out there, with just enough talent to get her published while lacking the seldomly found wow factor that cements readers and leaves them ready to shed blood to get more.

I feel prequels fail to solicit an active audience on the grand scale and should remain to be released after, or during, a series as a treat for fans. It is not a book trailer and shouldn't be used as one.

But yes, Redd, read it. I look forward reading to your opinion. Plus, it's short so it won't waste that much of your time.

I think I misunderstood you. As you wrote you liked the story, you said it was good, except it was too fast and it lacked a final ending. I was only explaining what I understood . This was a Novella not a full Novel.
I also know we all have different opinions, and Redd might also have her own...Happy Reading!

Thanks, Gloria. I'm glad you thought to note that it was a novella. I did not know that going in, and wouldn't have read it all if I had.

The story is a good one, or the concept rather. Yes, I would have liked if Morea had taken the time to create a bond with the characters to the reader instead of the constant this then that, this then that.

It is a novella, but I've read bites with more potential that rightly deserve the Five-Star rating that so many are attributing to this, in my opinion, undeserving novella.

This is all only my little opinion. And, of course, Redd will have her own. Although she tends to be even harder to please than even I at times. But who knows... She may love it and I wouldn't think less of her if she did.

Yeah, I tend to be tough on a book. Comes from tough ass english comp professors and working in libraries. Try having a gram who always corrected your english...*grins* I am a rebellious sort.

Great goobers, you two. Hey B, what's that book we read where the vamps, and lycans were in an X-Men like school? You remember that book? It's *kinda* giving me that sorta feel. Who knows that could change.

I'm only in 21% of the book, but so far the first chapter really didn't impress me. I'll get to the rest of it, and post a review if my brain works later or on the morrow.

"Thanks, Gloria. I'm glad you thought to note that it was a PREQUEL. I did not know that going in, and wouldn't have read it all if I had."
