Jo Black went in search of a vampire...and finding one is going to rock her world.

Immortal Nic Lucian has finally met his bond-mate only to have her try to kill him. As he tries to introduce her to his world and reunite her with her sister who is now an immortal, he gets a lesson in modern women and how stubborn they can be.

Jo's world had been turned upside down. The death of her sister introduced her to the world of vampire hunting. Now she learns the hard way that crosses, stakes, holy water, and sunlight don't work. And you better protect your heart and body, because when an immortal wants you, he gets you - one way or another.

Every once in a while one of those women who has no idea what the hell they want actually manages to make me laugh instead of summoning the urge to make me throttle her. And Nic responds to her craziness all too well.

The worst part of this story is that it's all crammed into one 95 page book while it quite easily could have spanned an entire trilogy. Yes, there's only one villain, but two couples manage to find one another and there's still one other male that could have been paired.

Julian and Kristen met a while ago. He, an immortal. She, human. When Kristen is targeted in an attempt to get to Julian, she nearly dies and the situation forces Julian to change her ahead of schedule. But all that has already happened by the time we meet Jo. She's been trained to vanquish the vampires-with all the wrong tools for the job. She finally gets her chance to kill Julian's brother, Nic, and things take a drastic turn when her 'dead' sister arrives on scene and people start talking bondmates.

I loved the first half of this story. Jo and Nic are wonderful together and the brothers' bickering plays great against their budding relationship. If only Christian's part could have lasted longer... His portion of the tale found it's peak far too soon. 4 out of 5 stars.

Man.. if Robert came back as a vamp I woulda had a serious freak out. Despite reading a few, can't stand 'em, don't like, wished they'd all meet the light. yeech..

That would be sooo weird. Being trained to kill vamps & then you're sib came back as one would be insane.

B what happened to the review for A Soldier's Redemption?? I'm thinking of signing you up on the 18 & over book blog follower hop. LOL. J/k.. ><

I participated in the 18+ a while back. Got too tired to hop...

I skipped a review on A Soldier's Redemption (but there's one now, sorta), and also Summons, and Bad to the Bone.
