Vampire Watcher's are the human protectors of the vampire royal, ruling class. In Quinn, a Vampire Watcher's Story which is prequill to the series Royal Blood Chronicles from Quinn's point of view. In his story we find out about the Watcher's, how they began and what their role was in the beginning and what it has become. We also get to see Quinn and Katrina as we never have before again from Quinn's point of view.

For an added taste of Royal Blood Chronicles ten chapters of Katrina, the Beginning are also included.

Quinn Voss is the youngest brother of Guntar, the personal Watcher of the vampire Baron Fredrik Von Dracek. In this short story, he recalls the days of his youth and that of Katrina, the Baron's daughter. They've been best friends since they could walk. Inseparable. Quinn wants nothing more than to become her Watcher, and a great one at that. Katrina longs to become a warrior, and when it comes time for her to mate she insists she will marry for love.

Quinn is a realist. He knows his dearest friend will outlive him and, one day, her father will bring home a suitor for her to wed. But for now, his life revolves around her and the training that will best enable him to protect her in the years to come.

The writing is on the simplistic side but it draws you in nonetheless. Did it make me want to continue on in the series? Absolutely. 3 out of 5 stars.
